Giggs has announced The Chronicles Of Giggs, a one-night show at OVO Arena Wembley on Wednesday 16 December. He’s joined by The LOX (Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch), Beenie Man, Heartless Crew and Saxon Sound.
The line-up is built around the artists who influenced him. The LOX bring the New York side, with a catalogue that includes Money, Power & Respect and We Are the Streets. Beenie Man brings Jamaican dancehall. Heartless Crew and Saxon Sound represent the London soundsystem, garage and reggae scenes that UK rap came out of.
Giggs has spent two decades building his career mostly independently, starting in South London. Landlord reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and started a run of three consecutive Top 10 projects, and he’s been recognised at the MOBO Awards. More recently he performed alongside Jay-Z in London and was involved in launching St James House SEND School.
The show is also the first in Chronicles Of…, a new live series from promoter Geestar Empire. Each event is built around one artist and the music that shaped them. If the Wembley date does well, expect other UK artists to be asked to do one too.
Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster and AXS.
