Released on May 16th, Shine is a 14-track journey that not only showcases Jay’s evolution as an artist since his 2016 debut, but also serves as a vulnerable, emotionally rich portrait of the man behind the music. Crafted over a transformative four-year stint in Los Angeles, the album draws on Jay’s deepening musical maturity and international collaborations.
The star-studded guest list includes Estelle, Oddisee, Sam Wise, anaiis, Elujay, Tiny Spys, Pher, Yussef Dayes, Chief Adjuah, and House Gospel Choir. The result? A soundscape that’s at once deeply personal and globally resonant.
The latest single, ‘US’ featuring drummer-composer Yussef Dayes and legendary jazz innovator Chief Adjuah, is a standout, layering rich rhythms and emotional depth to explore themes of unity and self-awareness.
Beyond the Music
But Jay Prince’s creativity doesn’t stop at the music. A true multidisciplinary artist, he’s directed striking visuals like ‘How Far’, collaborated with fashion designers including Tokyo James, and crafted immersive, storytelling-driven experiences. Recently, he teamed up with Nowness to share a stunning photo series from his first trip to Kinshasa, DRC. An emotional return to his ancestral roots, where he reconnected with family and culture for the first time.
This journey has also inspired a forthcoming photo book, documenting his time in Congo and reinforcing the role that identity, heritage, and storytelling play in his work.

Fans got an early taste of the album at a special listening session hosted by KEF, and Jay recently dropped ‘High On The Internet’, a bold collaboration with UK pop powerhouse Ella Eyre.
