To ‘Start Fresh’ this school term, BeauBeau’s café in East London will be hosting art workshops on August 21st and 22nd, supported by Slawn and JD to celebrate individuality and the boundless energy of young people before they head back to school this September.

The Museum of Youth Culture have created an exhibition alongside the workshops to pay homage to a staple of everybody’s school days: The backpack. It is 25 years since JD introduced its signature duffel, so the exhibition is showing a timeline of all the different styles of backpack through the years and how self-expression at school has changed alongside them.

Slawn has designed fabric patches inspired by ‘Fire and Ice’ for all those taking part to take home and wear on their school essentials when term time starts back up. On the 22nd, the BeauBeau’s team are hosting the hands-on workshops, giving fans the chance to design their own backpacks just in time for their first classes of the year.
