There’s so much music out there nowadays, it’s so hard to decide what new releases you want to listen to. We know for a fact that you’re missing out on some gems so don’t worry, we’ve created a shortlist for you below.
Swarmz & Deno – Reload
‘Reload’ is a jumpy and energetic melodic Drill-tinged collab, that came about after a session at Swarmz’ studio. Both artists are used to topping the charts, and ‘Reload’ is sure to continue the trend. The video sees a guest appearance from Ardee with Swarmz and Deno embracing their ‘nerdy’ side with GTA and Project X references throughout the video that fans will recognise.
Falana – Rising EP
From Soul and Pop, to R&B and Afrobeats, if you’re looking to listen to something sweet and calming, this one’s for you. Through her own lens of living and experiencing different cultures around the world, from Nigeria, Ghana, Canada and the UK, to Cuba, Portugal, Jamaica, Denmark and America, Falana has crafted a record with a unique perspective and a sound that is truly global. The process has been one of healing and self-discovery; each trip unveiling a new layer that allowed her to write from a different perspective.
“I feel that I’m in my spirit position to be able to speak to different people, because I’ve experienced so many different places” – Falana.
Yems01 – Carhartt Cargos
‘Carhartt Cargos’ combines a hyper intriguing mixture of new wave ‘Rage’ style instrumentation (Playboi Carti, Trippie Redd) mashed up with an Old School Grime flow. Together, this creates an atmospheric, colourful and spacey vibe which we’re yet to properly come across in the UK scene.
This isn’t Yems first dabble into music, with his first major release ‘Jamie Vardy’ via GRM and DSPs amassing over 130,000, he’s also gone on to feature on underground legends 808INK’s latest album ’Still Here’, as well as dropping his first EP ‘Moving Mad’ only 2 months after stepping onto the scene.
Big Sick – I Ball
If you love Drill but you’re finding yourself getting tired of it lately, this one will wake you up. There’s something about Big Sick that makes this song so hot regardless of its common structure, flow and cadence. The video is refreshingly different from your typical UK rap hood ensemble and the basketball theme makes an excellent hook for all to recite.
EmanFromDaA2 (ft. Ricky Banks) – Stay Down
Pain rap is no longer neglected, but UK Rap with swag is. EmanFromDaA2 remind us of how cold this sound actually is, whilst Ricky Banks provides a tasteful chorus for us to take it in. We hope this isn’t the last of these kinda vibes!
