New Music! Samo Ones x Thnkn aloud: ‘Show colour re’ | @samo_ones

Noting themselves as “music fans first before artists”, British-Nigeran Rap and Afrobeats duo Samo Ones and Thnkn Aloud have bounced back with their brand new release ‘Show Colour Re’. Sampled from the classic Nigerian musician KWAM 1, this track is set to level up everything the collective has done before.

Produced by Ransom Beatz, ‘Show Color Re’ is a gorgeous blend of the duo’s favoured styles and flavours, combining the smooth, catchy and infectious vibes they are loved and known for.

The colourful music video, directed by Eric Myers, reflects the true meaning behind this creation, with Thnkn Aloud stating “in the song, we use ‘colour’ as a metaphor for beauty and the video is about appreciating our beautiful black women, so we wanted colour to be the portrayed throughout, with the shots of us and the ladies working perfectly with the captivating colour palettes and backdrops”.

Inspired by the celebration of black women, and the notion of putting these incredible women on a pedestal to be admired and appreciated, ‘Show Color Re’ pushes for the notion for women to be able to be their true selves in this world, which is a beautiful and much-needed push of activism.

This track is the lead for the duo’s debut mixtape titled ‘Juice & Jokes’, set to release in the summer. If you’re a fan of the likes of J Hus, KoJo Funds and Burna Boy, this single is the one for you.
