At 9bills, we’ve always championed the new wave of rap and youth-led music culture. From grime to drill, trapwave to global hip-hop, we document the sounds shaping the UK and beyond. With Reading & Leeds Festival 2025 shaping up to be one of the most rap-forward editions yet, we had to break down what’s making this year’s line-up a landmark moment.
Reading and Leeds Festival 2025: Travis Scott, D-Block Europe & Trippie Redd Take Over the UK’s Biggest Stage
Reading and Leeds Festival 2025 is setting the benchmark for festival culture once again, and this time, rap music is front and centre. From Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th August, some of the biggest names in global hip hop will be turning Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park into the UK’s ultimate rap takeover.
Travis Scott, the multi-platinum artist behind Utopia and global anthems like SICKO MODE, FE!N, and Highest in the Room, has been confirmed for his only European appearance of the year—headlining Sunday night in what promises to be a career-defining performance. Known for high-octane visuals and chaotic mosh-pit energy, Travis’ set is set to be the moment of Reading and Leeds Festival 2025.
Sharing top billing is D-Block Europe, the UK’s undisputed trapwave kings. Having sold out four consecutive nights at The O2 and delivered a string of platinum records, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB will light up the stage with hits like Overseas, Prada, and Fantasy. Their set will be one of the most hyped of the weekend, especially for UK rap heads.
Also confirmed is US genre-blender Trippie Redd, known for his emo-influenced style and crossover appeal. His appearance rounds out a truly global rap presence, bringing transatlantic energy to the Reading and Leeds stages.
But it’s not just the headliners making noise. The second wave of announcements revealed a deep rap lineup, spotlighting rising UK talent like Nemzzz, who’s already worked with Headie One and Lil Yachty, and Pozer, fresh from his MOBO Award win for Best Drill Act. Alongside them are the likes of Lancey Foux, Songer, and Blanco, representing the new guard of British rap talent.
Reading and Leeds Festival has always been a proving ground for cultural moments. From Dave’s viral Thiago Silva fan performance to Stormzy’s game-changing 2018 set, it’s the festival where UK rap breaks new ground. 2025 continues that legacy, expanding the platform for diverse voices while bringing global names into the mix.
Beyond the music, the festival is rolling out its biggest upgrades yet, with five brand new campsite options, improved infrastructure, and a focus on inclusivity, sustainability, and safety. These updates mark a major shift for UK festivals and a bold new era for Reading and Leeds.
For fans of rap, R&B, alternative, punk and everything in between, Reading and Leeds Festival 2025 offers more than just a lineup—it’s a movement.
