Rapidly rising South London based rapper, OFFCOURSE releases visuals to brand new single ‘Address That’. Throughout the past year he has consistently shown his capabilities as an artist, as he approaches the milestone of garnering his first million streams led by tracks such as ‘My Gang’, ‘Beg Friend’ and ‘Still Here‘ – featuring the highly approved Lady Leshurr.
Lady leshurr will be on Celebrity Master Chef.. by her own admission she can’t cook to save her life. Should be fun 🤣🥴👩🏾🍳 pic.twitter.com/4FKG7KQ04P— 9bills (@9bills) May 25, 2020
Produced by GRM Rated Award nominee ADotSkitz (@AdotSkitz), who has previously worked with hugely admired names such as Stormzy, Krept, Konan, French Montana and more, OFFCOURSE has been able to “address” some things on his mind along this beat. The disctinctivness in his flow plays a huge role in the deliverance of the hard-hitting lyricism throughout the track, as he raps about his biggest year so far in the music industry.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Address That’, OFFCOURSE says, “When I was working with Adotskitz, we were initially going to create something a bit more traditional, with a catchy hook, but I wanted to try something a little less conventional. The song structure on ‘Address That’, without any obvious hooks or choruses, is not very typical, and this is because I didn’t want think too much about trying to make a popular record, and I just wanted to go with the flow and let the music take me somewhere”.
OFFCOURSE is evidently heavily influenced by UK rap legends such as Wretch 32, Kano and Chip particularly due to their lyricism, rare honesty and intellectual wordplay; characteristics that OFFCOURSE successfully replicates and integrates into his music. The success that he is so eager to achieve is closer than expected, with support from BBC Radio 1, KISS FM, BBC 1XTRA, Kiss Fresh, Spotify and GRM Daily among other immensely established platforms, his status has already began to excel into the mainstream UK music scene.
For the ‘Address That’ video, OFFCOURSE linked up once again with director 1Time to bring the captivating rap track further to life. Having recorded the track earlier that year in Paris, France it was only right to shoot the visuals there. He claimed that they wanted to deliver the visuals “in an organic authentic way”.
In a scene where many upcoming artists share the same dreams, OFFCOURSE responded “I want everyone that listens to my music to know that you can be successful and obtain your heart’s desires through hard work and acquiring the knowledge”. With his forthcoming debut EP release coming soon, “Address That” will be one of the many featured songs. Furthermore, this gives the audience a taste of what the project will involve!
