Ice Prince enlists Oxlade for tantalising riddim “Kolo” | @oxladeofficial @iceprincezamani

ICE PRINCE, one of Africa’s foremost rap stars and the first artist from the continent signed to 300 Entertainment, teams with fast-rising afropop star OXLADE for the intoxicating new single and video, “Kolo,” out now on all DSPs.

The Egar Boi-produced track sees ICE PRINCE professing his devotion to a love interest who’s got him going kolo — meaning crazy or mad, according to popular Nigerian slang. “I’m talking about a girl that I fell in love with and I’m going crazy thinking about,” ICE PRINCE explains. “I can’t stop thinking about her and getting her the best things in life, and how I want to make her my wife. “

OXLADE, fresh off a breakout 2020 campaign with his acclaimed debut EP, Oxygene, brings a soaring falsetto to the intimate track, delivering an addictive earworm of a hook. “Oxlade is an amazing artist, so it wasn’t hard for us to share our ideas together and come up with this record,” ICE PRINCE explains. “I’m a fan of his music, he’s a fan of mine, and I’m happy we’re able to put out a record together.”

Nigeria’s UAX directed the “Kolo” video, bringing the song’s sultry, seductive feel to life with understated lighting and hypnotic dance movements.

One of Africa’s most successful rappers and a two-time BET Awards winner, ICE PRINCE joins 300 Entertainment after a decade of hits (“Oleku,” “Aboki”) in his native Nigeria, and globe-spanning collaborations with Major Lazer, French Montana and Jeremih. This year marks the 10th anniversary of his debut album, Everybody Loves Ice Prince (2011), a formative project in the Nigerian music explosion of the last decade. To date, Ice Prince’s songs have racked up over 100 million streams across DSPs.

“Kolo” is ICE PRINCE’s second release for 300 following September’s “Make Up Your Mind” featuring Tekno.
