Culture Deck presents the Jamaica St Carnival Party, a modern carnival celebration of Liverpool’s cultural heritage that hasn’t been seen in 25 years. Taking place on the August bank holiday Sunday, year 2 of the Jamaica Street Carnival Party will bring a variety of sounds and acts from 70’s/80s Liverpool reggae and soul sounds to global stars, and the best regional talent building on the success of 2021 when we were able to bring acts like Kranium, David Rodigan, and Alicai Harley. This event will show the world once again that Liverpool’s local culture has global reach!
The Jamaica Street Carnival Party will be taking over Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle with a mix of outdoor stages, independent venues, community collaborations, stalls, pop-ups, and venue-based afterparties. The activities feature local arts, food and culture to a show-stopping musical offer that’s not to be missed.

As well as the main event taking place on the 28th of August, there will also be a special digital programme leading up to the big day. The programme will be a mix of community collaborations and events that showcase Liverpool’s culture and build-up to the main event.
The Liverpool Carnival was a northern powerhouse of cultural events. As home to Europe’s oldest Black community, the people of Liverpool have long and fond memories of the Carnival, which has been sorely missed in the city ever since it was discontinued. It was something that the community looked forward to all year round, and was responsible for bringing visitors to the city from far and wide.
Those with their ears to the ground of Liverpool’s music and cultural scene know that there are still regular rally cries to bring carnival back. We have made it our mission to answer these calls with an all-day outdoor carnival event packed with live music, sound systems, stalls, and food from local independents.
Liverpool has always been a groundbreaking city for music and culture and rightly proud of its diversity. The Jamaica St Carnival Party will continue and expand on that legacy.
