LEGACY: Where Orchestral Power Meets Birmingham’s Rap Icons

Saturday 12th April 2025 | Birmingham Symphony Hall, Birmingham | 7:30 PM
Monday 28th April 2025 | The Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, London | 7:30 PM

A Groundbreaking Fusion of Grime, Rap & Classical Music

The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and Punch Records proudly present LEGACY—a pioneering live experience that fuses orchestral brilliance with the raw energy of rap, grime, and hip-hop. Taking place over two exclusive nights in April 2025, this one-of-a-kind concert celebrates Birmingham’s deep-rooted musical legacy.

CBSO season finale: Mahler.

From the Streets of Brum to the Royal Stage

LEGACY was born from a powerful documentary and book uncovering the untold stories of Birmingham’s rap and grime pioneers. The project brings together a tight-knit community of artists, producers, tastemakers, and creatives who have long championed the city’s underground culture. Together, they are reshaping how these sounds are seen, heard, and experienced.

Stacked Line-Up Featuring 15 Birmingham Legends

The night will feature genre-defining anthems performed live by:

LADY LESHURR, NODB, JAYKAE, BIG DOG YOGO, BRIXX, C4, CREEZON,
DAPZ ON THE MAP, PRESSURE0121, ROXXXAN, SAF ONE, SOX,
T ROADZ, TRAPPY, and TRILLA

Backed by one of the UK’s top orchestras and led by award-winning conductor Phil Meadows, these artists will bring new life to classics like “Queen’s Speech,” “Toothache,” and “She Wants A Man From Brum.”

“I’ve never done anything with an orchestra before. The two songs I’ve picked—‘Toothache’ and ‘Moscow’—are my most legendary. With a choir, ‘Toothache’ sounds amazing. With an orchestra? I can only imagine what that’s going to sound like.” – Jaykae

LEGACY isn’t just another live show—it’s a transformative moment in UK music. By uniting classical instrumentation with rap’s lyrical force, this event proves Birmingham’s status as a capital of resilience, reinvention, and artistic innovation.
