Set on a backdrop of a busy London borough, ‘Rebirth’ navigates themes of transformation and resilience within the Black British community, going against traditional storytelling norms to make viewers reflect on societal changes and their own identities.
The production of ‘Rebirth’ provided work experience for Newham-based filmmakers, fostering talent and inclusivity in the communities the film is based around. Directed by the talented Joel Claudio and Joel Maisanda, the film provides a unique sonical experience, with immersive sound design and cinematography which ultimately shows that independent film is in the best state yet.
