Culture Capital Group is giving away £1000 in grants to black creatives in the UK under 25!

With backing from a poet with international recognition, Sophia Thakur, Guap and Culture Capital’s educational media platform, Cheat Codes, a handful of black creatives under 25 will have a chance to win a grant and receive mentoring by the judges in person!

“Soulful Expressions: What does culture and community mean to you?”

Submissions can be in the form of:

  • A poem or small anthology of poems
  • An imaginative essay or short story (2500 words)
  • A piece of art
  • A photo essay
  • Short film
  • Social media project
  • Any other creative medium that appeals to the grant seeker – Creativity is loosely defined, and entrants may define the terms as they see fit

The prizes are:

For any black creative under 25:   1st place – £250  

                                                            2nd place – £150

                                                            3rd place – £100

Black creative festival attendee or Cambridge Student:    1st Place – £250

                                                                                                      2nd place – £150

                                                                                                      3rd place – £100

To enter:

  1. Make and upload a creative 90 second pitch video on Instagram or Tiktok, tagging @culturecapitalgroup and @camblackcreativesfestival and using the #cheatcodescommunity #fortheculture hashtags.
  2. Complete a short form on the Culture Capital website with details about yourself and your idea.
  3. Bonus: Attend the Black Creative Festival to increase your chance of winning by being eligible for both funds.
