Who is T Mulla?

T Mulla is an upcoming recording artist from Hackney, specialising in a mixture of genres such as Rap, Afrobeats, Dancehall, Hip Hop and much more. T Mulla is a melody king who loves to get a party jumping with his sound.

Inspiration

I started recording music when I was in year 8, so I was probably 13 or 14. I used to write raps and poems before that [but] never showed anyone, until one day my school mates were freestyling on the block. I started recording music seriously in year 10 roughly.

Seeing young artists make their way onto the charts and get millions of views is very inspiring with the likes of Ramz getting ‘Barking’ into the top 2 on the UK charts, as well my good friend Not3s raking in millions of views repeatedly on his recent videos.

The way Stormzy progressed into being one of the UK’s biggest artists is very inspiring to me. He spent a long time building his own platform and just kept it real the whole way which I love. Of course I’d like to have my own unique story, but if there’s anyone’s success which I would like to emulate Stormzy would be a front runner.

Achievements

The biggest achievement I have been involved in would probably be the Hardy Caprio tour. It was a big achievement for me to be able hype up massive crowds of people who aren’t even from London. I was very happy to see fans from all over come together to enjoy my music alongside the likes of One Acen, Belly Squad and Hardy Caprio himself of course.

Challenges

One challenge I could say I have overcome would be 2016 in general, in terms of my music anyway. I was caught up with education and other situations which were holding me back from progressing my music career. However, it got to a point where I’d had enough and found myself again. In no time I was back on my feet which led to my release of Dollar Pound Cake at the end of the day.
